Biography
Dr. Kevin Hatcher brings over 24 years of leadership and expertise in sport management, with extensive experience across intercollegiate athletics in both public and private universities. His work spans major athletic conferences, including the Big Ten, PAC-12, Patriot League, California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), and Western Athletic Conference (WAC).
Throughout his career, Dr. Hatcher has held prominent leadership roles, including serving as President of the California Collegiate Athletic Association and chair of the NCAA West Region Basketball Committee. He has also been actively involved in professional organizations such as the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Black Coaches Association. His commitment to student development is reflected in his advisory roles with the African American Brotherhood at California State University, San Bernardino, and the Christian Athletes Group at Colgate University.
Dr. Hatcher has contributed to the field through editorial and writing work, serving as a former editorial board member for Athletic Business and Athletic Management magazines, and as a contributing writer for Athletic Management.
His professional service includes participation in numerous committees such as the University of Texas System Athletics Committee, Sun Bowl Pac-10 Host Committee, University Affirmative Action Oversight Committee at Colgate University, and the Cal State San Bernardino Advancement Council and 50th Anniversary Development Committee. He also served on the NCAA Division I Committee on Athletics Certification.
In his most recent administrative role, Dr. Hatcher served as Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Recreation at California State University, San Bernardino. In this capacity, he oversaw intercollegiate athletics and recreation programs, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and supervised faculty coaches, student-athletes, and professional staff. He also played a key role in campus leadership as a member of the Division of Student Affairs senior leadership team and the President’s Administrative Council.
